We celebrated National Work Life Week 2021 with a series of activities for employees, focussing on their wellbeing and their work-life balance.

The National Work Life Week is an initiative whereby employers can showcase their flexible working practices and provide activities for their staff that help to put under the spotlight creating the right culture for flexibility and retaining a diverse workforce.

During the week we offered employees the following activities:

  • HSBC Financial Wellbeing Sessions – an opportunity to talk to a financial advisor
  • E Bike Scheme Launch & Demo – a chance for employees to try a selection of E-bikes, coincided with the launch of our new Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Motivational quote and stress ball for all employees
  • Lunch – Bagel Oasis – a free sandwich/bagel for all employees
  • Lunch Walk – a chance to meet other employees on a casual walk at lunchtime
  • Fitness Classes – free membership of Fitness First gym for the week, including fitness classes and a PT session
  • Free fresh fruit for everyone
  • Live Webinars – a number of webinars during the week from inspirational speakers including Barbara Cox-Lovesy and Wellbeing Ambassador Tracy Jones
  • Suggestion Boxes – an opportunity for employees to post ideas on how wellbeing could be improved across the company
  • Wellbeing Booklet – a specially produced booklet for staff containing lots of useful resources to support both physical and mental health and wellbeing
  • Benefits of Yoga & Meditation – a booklet emailed to all employees full of useful resources and advice on the benefits of yoga and meditation.

We also used the week to launch our brand new Employee Engagement Team (EET): This is an initiative aimed at building great employee relations, supporting early resolution of collective issues, letting leaders know what the staff are saying, improving company wide communications and supporting event including charity events.

Thank you to all our employees who took part in the various activities during the week and we very much hope you have benefitted from some if not all of them.
