We have recognised that accreditation to ISO 9001 alone does not allow us to take the business forward in the manner we would like, and may cut us off from potential business where improved quality and safety requirements over ISO 9001 are a basic requirement. We have, therefore, initiated a course that will give us accreditation to AS 9100 as part of our next major Lloyd’s Register quality audit.
Supply Chain for the 21st Century (SC21) is a change programme, administered by A|D|S, that is designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace & defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chains. International competition, together with the challenges posed by the defence industrial strategy, necessitates rapid improvement in the effectiveness of UK supply chains. At the same time, industry is tasked ensure that it delivers competitive solutions for customers whilst maintaining profitable business growth. These are goals that Aish Technologies fully aspire to, and we are in the process of achieving accreditation to SC21 Bronze standard. For our customers, the fact that we are accredited to SC21 means that we will have achieved a standard of business excellence, including product quality and on-time delivery, which they can take for granted without the need for comprehensive supplier audits. Moreover, they know that SC21 is a journey, and that Aish Technologies will continue to improve its performance in key areas.
